What is a brand message?
Imagine Jane. She’s a potential customer. Every morning, she wakes up to play the lead role in another day in the story of her life. But, like the protagonist of every good story, she has a problem that needs to be solved. She’ll spend time today thinking about the problem, searching for a solution to that problem, maybe even paying someone to take care of that problem for her.
Here’s the rub: Most brands do a terrible job communicating how they fit into their customer’s story and how they solve their customer’s problem.
A good brand message:
- Tells the customer’s story, not your story
- Clearly identifies what your customer wants
- Acknowledges the problems
